Excellent Clinician and Human Being
I started seeing Irene several years ago, to help me sort out some of the more challenging issues in my life. I was nervous because I had never been to a therapist, but I was point in my life when I needed some help because what I was doing was not working. When I met Irene for the first time she immediately put me at ease with her bright smile and warm heart. She provides an environment of safety, trust, and comfort. Irene gave me many tools to be able to handle life challenges with ease and grace. I am especially grateful to Irene for her recommendations on resource books and the EE workshop.( The workshop was transformative) If you are looking for a warm, compassionate, supportive, experience, intelligent therapist then look no further. Best Supervisor
I saw Irene weekly for supervision for about a year while accruing hours toward my license. She offered a healthy perspective of the work I was doing at the time and her feedback was honest and encouraging. We covered everything from professional development issues to specific skill practice during our time together. I honestly felt I became a better person and counselor as a result of being Irene's supervisee and, although I was thrilled when I finally got my license, I was sad our sessions were over. She's wonderful in every way!

Professional, friendly, efficient and reliable
Irene is everything one could ask for in a supervisor. She is patient, calm and respectful. You can feel free to share all of what you experienced and your feelings. Very Professional, Caring, and Empathetic
Irene was my supervisor for a brief time while obtaining my LPC in NJ. Irene was very supportive throughout the experience. She took the time to listen to what I had to say and was also able to give me constructive feedback on how I can overcome my own obstacles and barriers. What I enjoyed most about working with her is her genuineness and openness within our discussions. Exceptional Therapist!

Totally trust Irene and you feel unconditional support from her!
I started therapy with Irene about four years ago. I was suffering from PTSD from being sexually assaulted as a child. She has changed my life! The work that we have done together was intense. I always felt her unconditional support as I relived my trauma. She has unlocked my heart and I can fee joy again! Her office is warm and inviting. I would recommend her to anyone or any couple of any family that needs help!

She is an amazing therapist, and person!
I highly recommend her as a therapist. I had never been to a therapist before. My partner and I decided that we wanted to make sure our relationship went in the correct direction, and Miss Irene was brought into our lives. Irene has changed my life!
Irene is the most amazing person. I found her on a website after going through two therapist. I was frustrated that none of the other therapists made me feel comfortable to open up. I felt like I was being judge with other therapist. Not with Irene. I loved her immediately. I knew she was special and I worked with her for 3 years. She has helped me develop the compassion and self-love I need to be happy in my life and be a contribution to others. I send all my family and friends to her. Everyone loves Irene and she has helped my family heal tremendously. I would recommend her for children or adults.

Attentive, flexible, accommodating, genuine, caring, sincere.
I reached out to three therapists, as I was wanting to start couple therapy since I reached the point in my relationship where I needed some help if the relationship was going to work. I had a couple conditions to start with a therapist. Silly conditions really, however important to me. Two of the three therapists blew me off because of the conditions I identified, Ms. Dougherty did not. So she was who I chose. For me ,if you could not accommodate my silly conditions, it spoke volumes to me about the therapists ability to "handle" me as I am not always an "easy" person to deal with in my view. I made the right decision in Ms. Dougherty. I am happy to report that she has been a great help in fostering my healthy relationship, as well as seeing me thru other unrelated but difficult issues. I would highly recommend Ms. Dougherty.

Best Counselor I've Ever Encountered
Irene has been my counselor for 4 years now. She allows me the space to feel safe and okay about any emotion or thought that I'm feeling or thinking yet at the same time gives me the tools and advice to learn to see a situation in a new, healthier light. My life has changed dramatically since I started to see her. I've seen other counselors; none have had the impact on my personal growth the way Irene has. Irene is kind, patient, and empathetic. These are definitely traits you need in a counselor as you explore parts about yourself that can be difficult or painful to face. I would recommend Irene to anyone. In fact, I wish everyone would go see Irene. The world would become a better, much healthier place.

My experience with Irene has been nothing but, fantastic; she has helped work through issue that have bothered me for years. Through Irene I have finally experienced the happiness of letting go of things that don't matter, and have learned that you can be strong and vulnerable at the same time. She is compassionate and empathetic. She helps you find your answers using different types of techniques, and she doesn't use mirroring questions: example "well what do you think". The therapy is real and genuine, and that's why I would recommend her to anyone.
